Technology Blog 1 Developing a Connected Learning Model
The text compares two types of professional development. Traditional methods like workshops provide isolated work experiences. The focus is on transferring knowledge, but it doesn't always support real-world student growth. The "Connected Learning Communities" balance technology and broader networks to expand learning. The main idea is that these communities provide support and allow others to have different ideas and opinions, building connections to the group. The group is about leadership, support, and connections to colleagues.
This concept can be translated to my business major. Businesses can apply it by utilizing digital platforms for employee development and encouraging employees to rely on each other for support. Working with people in a business can be difficult when everyone has different ideas. Instead of turning against one another, we can work together to make plans come to life.
The local community, global network, and bounded community are all talked about in the text that would be very helpful for a bussinees. Personal learning communities take a team effort. Personal learning networks are individual focused, and communities of practice take a system focus. This caused everyone to work together and also think for themselves. It allows everyone to speak about their ideas. I think it is great for everyone to be able to speak their minds.
I like how you explained the difference between traditional professional development and connected learning communities. Your connection to the business world made a lot of sense, especially how working together can help people with different ideas succeed. I also agree that giving everyone a chance to share their thoughts helps build stronger teams.
